With more than 3,000 miles of shoreline, Louisiana is the ideal playground for every avid and passive fisherman. Between lakes, marshes, and coastal gulf waters, there is no shortage of opportunities for you to choose from. And, with some of the most liberal catch limits in the country, folks who book their fishing charter trips with Lafitte's Get the Net Charters can collect more fish than in most other places throughout the country.
Louisiana = Sportsman's Paradise 24/7/365. Come see why
It's no secret that Louisiana offers some of the best fishing in the entire world; but did you know you can enjoy our amazing fishing expeditions all year long?
Each Louisiana season offers new and different opportunities for anglers looking for fun, adventure, and memories out on the water.
At the start of the year (January through March) Lafitte's inland saltwater havens become inundated with speckled trout and redfish, as they make their way into the interior marshes of the coast. Get the Net's experienced leader - Captain Nick - will help you determine where, exactly, these fish can be found, based on the weather of the day. For example, on warmer days, speckled trout can be caught on the flats, while during colder snaps, they're more likely to be caught in the deeper holes.
From April through June our beloved speckled trout make their way from the interior marshes to the barrier islands (and toward the Gulf of Mexico). This migration marks one of the most exciting and rewarding times to catch speckled trout, while across the coast, redfish are still abounding.
In July through September, the summer heat means it's an easy time catch your fill of speckled trout, redfish, and flounder. Between Grand Island and Venice you can also catch blue marlin that surpasses the 100-pound mark.
With the fall (October through December) the fish begin to move back into the interior marshes. You'll have no problem finding redfish or speckled trout along the waterways that surround Lafitte, LA, and you may very well stumble upon some of the biggest yellowfish tuna you've ever come face to face with.
